NYUAD Hackathon: Team Final Presentations and Judging: Quantum Computing Applications

Teams will present their applications to an expert panel of judges representing the top institutions such as the Technology Innovation Institute (TII), IBM, UN, MIT, qBraid, NASA, and Amazon, among others.

NYUAD's Hackathon for Social Good in the Arab World brings together renowned international computer science professors, entrepreneurs, technology professionals, and venture capitalists to lead teams of talented computer science students from the US and the Arab world. The teams develop innovative mobile and web applications relevant to diverse fields such as health, education, film, music, business, and science.  

Keynote speakers include:

  • Graham Alabaster, Chief of the Geneva Office of UN Habitat, UK
  • Loay Elbasyouni, an electrical engineer who was the lead engineer designing the NASA robotic helicopter (Ingenuity) that landed on Mars in 2021. USA
  • Heike Rill, Head of Science & Technology and Lead of IBM Research Quantum Europe, Switzerland
  • Marieke Hood, Executive Director Impact Translator, GESDA, France
  • Urbasi, Sinha, Professor at the Raman Research Institute (RRI)
  • Dr Barry Sanders, Director of the Institute for Quantum Science and Technology at the University of Calgary, Canada
  • Davide Venturelli, Associate Director, Quantum Computing at USRA – Senior Scientist at Nasa Ames Research Center - Quantum AI Laboratory
  • Sebastian Hassinger, Principal Specialist | WW Business Development & Go-To-Market | Amazon Braket

The NYUAD Hackathon for Social Good in the Arab World is organized by Professor Sana Odeh, Affiliate Faculty at NYUAD and Clinical Professor at NYU Courant Institute.
