This event brings together feminist scholars Naminata Diabate (Cornell University, USA, and Africa Institute, Sharjah), G. Arunima (Kerala Council for Historical Research, and Jawaharal Nehru University), and Nadia Yala Kisukidi (Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis University). Starting with a discussion of Professor Diabate's award-winning book Naked Agency: Genital Cursing and Biopolitics in Africa (Duke University Press, 2020), the three panelists will reflect on the stakes of women's mobilizations and feminism in South Asia, Africa, and across the African diaspora in Europe and the Americas.
