This conference aims to synthesize what we know about, and showcase new work on, political violence, both qualitative and quantitative, with the participation of an international community of scholars who work on regions across the world, including North America, Latin America, Europe, South Asia, Africa and the MENA region. The topics covered include Global Trends in Political Violence, Democracy, Authoritarianism and Violence (probing the relationship between democracy, and Violence and Governance.
