This zoom event reunites the co-curators of the exhibition Invisible Threads: Technology and its Discontents Bana Kattan (Associate Curator, MCA Chicago) and Scott Fitzgerald (Industry Associate Professor, Co-Director IDM, Director of Online Programs, Global Network Arts Professor, NYU), as well as artist Heather Dewey-Hagborg (Visiting Assistant Professor of Interactive Media, Practitioner Scholar, NYU Abu Dhabi), and is moderated by Maya Allison (Executive Director, NYUAD Art Gallery). Together, they will consider the complex interactions between creative and curatorial practice, and the role of these in education.
Invisible Threads was co-curated by Kattan and Fitzgerald and included work by Heather Dewey-Hagborg, who has since joined the faculty of NYU Abu Dhabi. Each panelist curated and worked in a variety of settings and formats connected with educational institutions.
This event is part of the TRACE: Archives and Reunions series and will mark the publishing of the online archive for the Invisible Threads: Technology and its Discontents exhibition, including the Youth Guide, brochure, and installation views.
