NYUAD Athletics is posting weekly virtual yoga and meditation classes every Thursday, at 8am GST. Led by NYUAD Physical Education Instructor Miriam Maher, the classes are shared to help the global community maintain their mental and physical health, and include various yoga and mindfulness practices. This initiative comes as part of NYUAD Athletics’ commitment to protect public health and ensure physical distancing in order to limit the spread of the coronavirus and support the UAE’s #StayHome campaign.
The classes cover a diverse range of yoga and meditation techniques and exercises, including yoga for athletes, Yin Yoga, core yoga, stress-relief yoga, and guided meditation exercises that help with maintaining mental health, focusing on different topics each time, such as emotional awareness and loving-kindness meditation.
