This conference aims to raise awareness of the role of women in science, and specifically women in mathematics.

Statistics show that there is a large gender gap when it comes to men and women pursuing a career in mathematics, and the gap only increases as careers progress.

In addition to lectures from expert speakers in the field, a movie screening, and an exhibition inspired by the Women of Mathematics throughout Europe initiative, the event will also feature an outreach component aimed at local high-school students.

Through these combined activities, we hope to present clear, inspiring case studies of present-day women in mathematics and, by doing so, encourage high-schools students, undergraduates, and researchers alike to pursue — or continue to pursue — a career in mathematics, or more generally in science.
