American singer, musician, composer, producer and curator Toshi Reagon joins the Race Diversity and the Learning Community series to discuss her concept Sacred Transmission, in conversation with Vice Chancellor Mariet Westermann and Tatyana Brown. Reagon's idea of Sacred Transmission reimagines community by redesigning systems of togetherness through vehicles of sound, art, and conversation. Reagon has a distinctive history with NYUAD as the artist who opened the first season of the Arts Center with her concert version of Octavia E Butler's Parable of the Sower, followed by multiple return visits. The Arts Center's online reprise of the concert in her presence last spring brought together more than 3500 visitors from around the world, and on November 6 the Arts Center streamed her powerful Scared Transmission Post-Election show which was followed by a live Q&A with Reagon and The Arts Center's Bill Bragin.
