Turtle Patrol Training

Activity

WHEN March 12, 2019
5:30-7 PM WHERE Campus Center (C2), East Forum WHO NYU Abu Dhabi Community Outreach Open to the Public

Did you know that critically endangered Hawksbill turtles lay their eggs on Saadiyat’s beaches in the spring and summer? NYU Abu Dhabi is proud to partner with the Saadiyat turtle conservation program led by Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort.

Learn how you can get involved in local wildlife conservation by joining early morning beach patrols from April-July. Volunteers will commit to walking along a portion of the Saadiyat beach looking for turtle activity. Learn what to do if you do come across turtle tracks, as all activity and nests need to be recorded, protected, and occasionally relocated. Join this Informational Training Session to become a part of the Turtle Patrol.

Volunteer Criteria
Volunteers must be 18+ years of age.
Minors can join the patrol but only accompanied by a supervising trained adult at all times.
