This one-day workshop provides an opportunity for a critical discussion of Leonid Peisakhin’s draft book manuscript “Invisible Boundaries: Cultural Legacies and Persistence of Political Identities." The book explores the creation and persistence of political identities in the context of imperial rule over what today is Ukraine and how competing historical identities are shaping politics in contemporary Ukraine and the broader region. Invited scholars discuss several chapters from the manuscript, and the author responds to recommendations and critiques.
