NYUAD Community Outreach is pleased to invite you to our upcoming SNAP workshops. This November, we are excited to introduce SNAP Motion, which will focus on basic level dance and movement.
Fall 2018 SNAP Motion: Beginner Level
In collaboration with Attitude student dance club, the SNAP Motion program entails two workshops in November and is aimed at children between the ages of 7-12. Participants must attend both workshops. We invite all children in the indicated age group to try out this beginner-level dance program.
Criteria
Children should be comfortable with basic body movement i.e., stepping, stomping, and simple hand gestures.
Children need to be available to attend both session dates:
Sunday, November 18, 2018 and Wednesday, November 21, 2018.
Children need to be transported to NYUAD Saadiyat Campus each session and parents/guardians are required to stay for the duration of each session.
Skills
The skills we hope to achieve progress in are:
Body coordination (hand and leg movements)
Sense of rhythm (dancing to counts/beats)
Creative expression (facial and body expression)

SNAP (Special Needs Adaptive Programs) at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) provides inclusive adaptive recreational sports and movement coaching to children with special needs in the Abu Dhabi community. This program pairs NYUAD student volunteers with young participants as ‘buddies’, mentoring the children under the direction of professional Athletics coaches and dance instructors.
