Science with a Potential UAE Deep Space Network Antenna

Conference

WHEN March 25-26, 2018
WHERE Abu Dhabi WHO NYU Abu Dhabi Institute By Invitation Interested scholars please contact nyuad.programs@nyu.edu

As the UAE develops its space sector with a grand vision of a future where humans have settled on Mars, it becomes increasingly important to develop the means to communicate with spacecraft distributed across the Solar System. This is currently done using medium size (30 - 40 meter) diameter radio antennae. In this workshop, leading scientists and engineers from around the world present how this antenna, thanks to its unique location in the Gulf, can be leveraged for cutting-edge scientific research -- ranging from local plate tectonics and sea-level changes, to accreting super-massive black holes in the distant universe.
