Permanent Temporariness: A Conversation with Sandi Hilal and Alessandro Petti

WHEN February 24, 2018
5:30-6:30 PM WHERE NYUAD Campus, Conference Center WHO NYU Abu Dhabi Institute Open to the Public

This talk between artists Sandi Hilal and Alessandro Petti with the Permanent Temporariness exhibition curators, Salwa Mikdadi and Bana Kattan explores how the artists developed a collaborative approach to an artistic practice that examines the potential of decolonization of architectural sites within conflict zones. The talk also focuses on the art exhibited and performed across NYUAD campus and Gallery and how their projects are a departure from the traditional reduction of refugees to merely victims but rather a wider interrogation on the present condition of impermanency and displacement affecting a vast number of people living as guests in host countries.

After the talk, the NYUAD Art Gallery invites you to the opening of their exhibition by these artists. For more information, please visit the exhibition webpage.
