Global Legal Education, Ethics, and the Environment

Conference

WHEN April 23-24, 2018
WHERE Abu Dhabi WHO NYU Abu Dhabi Institute By Invitation Interested scholars please contact nyuad.programs@nyu.edu

The phenomenon of globalization has called into question the predominance of the nation state and its corresponding traditional legal doctrines and disciplines. At the same time, the phenomenon invites a broad conversation about how legal education might be re-imagined. Sponsored by NYUAD’s new minted Legal Studies Program, the conference brings together a diverse group of scholars with discussion that includes the theory and practice of formulating a pluralistic and cross disciplinary approach to legal studies in light of the liberal arts tradition that integrates the humanities and social sciences. The conference’s discussion also focuses on the discrete but interrelated issues of global legal education, ethics and the environment.
