This workshop seeks to document and compare the ways in which Shakespeare’s works have spread throughout Europe, the Americas, the MENA region, and Asia. Participants delve into the material history of the performance, publication, and pedagogy inspired by Shakespeare’s work to understand how and why “Shakespeare” now represents a truly global cultural heritage that is claimed by artists and audiences from around the world.
