Devising successful strategies to treat cancer rests on in depth investigation into mechanisms of cancer initiation and metastasis. Such studies use whole animal approaches. In the past decade, a small tropical vertebrate fish, zebrafish, has fast made its way from pet stores into research laboratories worldwide. This workshop gathers leaders in the zebrafish cancer field and investigators from the UAE who study cancer using different methodologies and technologies. The community of researchers using zebrafish to study cancer is rapidly expanding, necessitating a clear plan for how to tackle central questions that remain a challenge in the cancer field.
