The six Arab Gulf States of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman and the United Arab Emirates are emerging as the new center of gravity, activity and creativity in the Arab world. This lecture focuses on the emergence of the Arab Gulf States of the 21st Century and the critical issues that confront these states as they become more regionally and globally visible. The concept of the Gulf Moment in contemporary Arab history will also be introduced.
