With this new project, Susan de Beer expands the improvisational and collaborative nature of her filmmaking process. She knits the texts and actions together into a larger structure loosely resembling a Film Noir or Giallo that is relocated to the Middle East. Artists Nathaniel Axel and Lafawndah and curator Khary Simon have a role in this particular film or within de Beer’s practice at large and lend insight into the film’s inspirations and its cinematography.
