Islam in Global Perspective

Conference

WHEN November 1-3, 2015
WHERE Abu Dhabi WHO NYU Abu Dhabi Institute By Invitation Interested scholars please contact nyuad.programs@nyu.edu

This conference explores the cultural, social, and scholarly aspects of transregional and global Muslim communities. Although journalists and political pundits often describe transregional Islamic movements as primarily political or militant, we consider migration, transregionalism, and the transmission of scientific knowledge, while acknowledging the conceptual tensions between global, local, and universal identities and practices.
