Established in 1962, The Mayouf Bahri Band is renowned in Kuwait as a leading performer conserving the traditions of Kuwaiti Pearl Diving Music, as well as other folk music genres. The band members are descendants of Kuwaiti pearl divers and seek to embody the memory of their ancestors through performance. The Mayouf Bahri Band continues to perform for national events in Kuwait in addition to international performances where they share and represent their Kuwaiti musical heritage. This program features pearl diving songs, introduced and explained by an expert musicologist.
