Russia-Ukraine Relations: A Neighborly Spat or Back to the Cold War?

Talk

WHEN February 25, 2015
6-7:30 PM EST WHERE 19 Washington Square North WHO NYU Abu Dhabi Institute in New York Open to the Public

The political and military conflict in eastern Ukraine, in which Russia is intensely involved, continues largely unabated. At stake is the future trajectory of Ukraine, a country of 43 million, and, more broadly, the very shape of the global political order. What are Russia’s goals in Ukraine and the former Soviet space at large? Have falling oil prices altered these calculations? How far will the US and NATO go in protecting states that are seen as at risk of Russian aggression? These and related questions will be addressed by the panel.
