Sila Abu Dhabi is a student-led conference that brings together Abu Dhabi-based university students to explore local issues and instigate change. The vision of this year's Sila Abu Dhabi Conference is to enable a growing network of "Green Schools" in Abu Dhabi, with the cooperation of the local community, to meet sustainability goals and advance learning conditions to mold future leaders. Teams of delegates will compete over a two day period to develop scalable and high-impact green solutions for our "model target" school, the American Community School of Abu Dhabi. Solutions will aim to create energy, water, and resource-efficient learning environments while incorporating the concepts of cooperation, sustainability, and environmental empathy into its curriculum. Before a panel of judges at the evening finale, the teams present their proposed solutions. The judges assess the projects and award the winning team seed money to realize their solution.
Sila Abu Dhabi is hosted by the NYUAD Institute in collaboration with the major universities of Abu Dhabi. More information can be found at: silaconnection.com.
