Roger Allen, the translator of four of BenSalem Himmich's novels into English, engages the distinguished Moroccan scholar in a conversation about the problematics of the translation of Himmich's Hādhā al-Andalusī (A Muslim Suicide), which was awarded the Saif Ghobash-Banipal Prize for translation from Arabic in 2012. In addition to the discussion of the original text and its translation, the presentation includes selected readings from both the original Arabic and its English translation.

Simultaneous Arabic translation will be provided.
