Long before modern media sent stories around the world at lightening speed, good tales traveled. In this two-day conference, Professors Evelyn Birge Vitz (French, NYU) and Maurice A. Pomerantz (Literature, NYUAD) invite 20 internationally-known scholars and performers to explore the travel of tales and consider the ways in which a common culture of story and storytelling can be found throughout pre-modern Europe, Middle East, South and East Asia.
