These fauna serve as excellent models to study the potential impacts of future climate change on reefs elsewhere in the tropics. This workshop pairs GCC national scientists with leading international scientists to conduct collaborative research-based training on the unique coral reefs in the Gulf in order to increase regional awareness and scientific capacity in coral reef conservation and management.
