Sila Abu Dhabi is a student-led conference that brings together Abu Dhabi-based university students to explore local issues and create positive impact. Over a two-day period, small groups of students from different universities collaborate to develop viable solutions inspired by Abu Dhabi's Plan 2030. Before a panel of judges at the evening finale, the teams present their proposed solutions to foster Abu Dhabi's development as an Arab city. The judges assess the projects and award the winning team seed money to realize their solution. In the September 2012 conference, team “Al Johar” was chosen as the winning team and awarded seed money to implement their proposed water conservation project. Sila Abu Dhabi is hosted by NYUAD in collaboration with the major universities of Abu Dhabi. More information can be found at: silaconnection.com.
