Rhythm is an essential aspect of the human experience and one of the crucial elements in organizing the temporal dimension of music. The connection of rhythm perception and production to the human body and its multidimensional character make it a subject of study in different fields. In this panel, four specialists in neuroscience, cognition, music theory/ethnomusicology, and music information retrieval introduce the public to rhythm as viewed from their specialization.
