Workshop

WHEN March 18-21, 2013
9 AM - 5 PM WHERE Abu Dhabi WHO NYU Abu Dhabi Institute By Invitation Interested scholars please contact nyuad.programs@nyu.edu

See March 18 and 21 for companion public events. Seeking to bridge the gap between theory and practice by including music and dance performances, this workshop provides a forum for an in-depth, cross-disciplinary review of expansive approaches to music analysis and modeling. Musical rhythm is investigated from four interlocking standpoints: music theory, musicology, and ethnomusicology; music modeling and computational approaches to music; music perception and cognition; and neuroscience.
