What could we learn (or not learn) about Beethoven if we use today's technology to sequence his genome? This mixture of piano performance (Beethoven's Piano Sonata No 30, op 109, and other pieces) and science lecture looks at medical, musical, and ancestry questions of Beethoven through the lens of modern genomics. It also discusses the ongoing changes in disease treatments aided by modern sequencing technology in emerging “individualized medicine.”
