The Coral Reefs of the Gulf conference will bring together leading regional and international scientists working on marine systems in the Arabian and Persian waters of the Gulf to discuss our current understanding of regional reefs, and to open a dialogue on future research directions and how this research can be better integrated with marine management programs in the region. This two and a half day conference will include a series of themed symposium sessions on topics including the natural history of Gulf reefs, environmental extremes and climate change, future threats and opportunities, science-based management and conservation, and a session on locally-focused studies of unique reefs in the Gulf. There is no registration fee for this conference but seating is limited.
