In conversation with Shamoon Zamir, Alwan discusses his first retrospective exhibition of photographs featuring images from Egypt as well as his 25 years of travel throughout the Middle East and North Africa. The photographs focus on the common and the quotidian; ordinary people going about their daily lives in a world that has been steadily decaying around them. Recently, however, his subjects have discovered that their collective strength lies in their individual weakness.

The public is invited to view The Undispossessed exhibit at the NYUAD Downtown Campus beginning at 4:30 PM.
