Guillaume Gabriel, co-founder of Compagnie Hervé Koubi, leads participants through some of the fundamental principles of urban and contemporary dance.
Participants will learn an excerpt from Koubi’s world renowned choreographic work, famous for being a highly physical, fluid, and gravity-defying style which combines capoeira, martial arts, and acrobatics into urban and contemporary dance.

Guillaume Gabriel
Guillaume Gabriel was born in the north of France, he graduated from the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Marseille where he studied dance at the Rosella Hightower Cannes Dance School. He worked with various choreographers, Bruno Jacquin, Sosana Marcellino, Thierry Smits, to name a few, and is the co-founder of Compagnie Hervé KOUBI with Hervé Koubi. Guillaume is also the administrative and production manager for the company and is responsible for all educational activities of the company.
Recognized as one of Europe’s most distinctive choreographers, Hervé Koubi will make his Fort Collins debut with a highly physical, stunningly fluid work for an all male troupe of dancers from North Africa and the Mediterranean basin. This gravity-defying, jaw-dropping style combines capoeira, martial arts, acrobatics, riurban and contemporary dance with powerful imagery evocative of Orientalist paintings and the stone filigree of Islamic architecture.
