Three strangers are reunited by astonishing coincidence after being born identical triplets, separated at birth, and adopted by three different families. Their jaw-dropping, feel-good story instantly becomes a global sensation complete with fame and celebrity, however, the fairy-tale reunion sets in motion a series of events that unearth an unimaginable secret –– a secret with radical repercussions for us all.

Mira is a magical realist short film that contemplates the relationship between the life cycle of galaxies, the immortal jellyfish, and a young marine biologist’s own mind as she risks her life to pursue the work she loves.

Three Identical Strangers Director’s Bio

London-based documentarian Tim Wardle has previously directed the Channel 4 documentaries Lifers (2012), studying murderers confined to prison for the rest of their lives, and One Killer Punch (2016), exploring the lingering impact of single acts of assault. Wardle is Executive Producer at Raw TV, and has also worked as head of development for companies such as Century Films and BBC Documentaries.

Mira Director’s Bio

Amanda Tasse develops poetic science narratives and visualizations spanning live-action, animation, video games, & VR/AR. Her films have won a Student Academy Award Gold Medal, HBO Films Student Competition Award, numerous festival awards and screened internationally. Her video game, Miralab, won Best Educational Game from the Serious Game Play Awards. She’s been granted two Sloan Science Film Grants. Since completing her PhD in Media Arts + Practice at USC in 2016, she has been teaching poetic science visualization and producing animated visualizations and narratives across media.
