The Black Box

Past Event

A choreographic debut, an original score, and ten committed dancers.

Created through a collaborative process that mirrors that of a dance company, Vitae is an exploration of beginnings and endings; mapped onto itself, the piece represents the mental process of an aspiring artist. Split into three chapters; moving through a journey of birth and exploration, before descending into chaos.

Kevin Ke is a Junior studying Theater and Economics at NYU Abu Dhabi, with a vested interest in dance. He has been involved in promoting dance on campus since 2016. In 2017 he led the student dance organization, Attitude Dance Society and is currently the chair for Body Voices; a student-led organization that aims to blend dance theory with dance practice. Having choreographed and participated in several casual dance pieces throughout his education, Vitae represents his first semi-professional piece of work.
