Engineering Capstones

The Engineering Capstone Design Project:

  • Provides students with a major design experience leveraging the knowledge and skills acquired throughout their undergraduate studies and co-curricular experiences;
  • Addresses engineering and technology topics that overlap with the sciences, social sciences, liberal arts or business with the emphasis of applying the design process to solve real-world problems in a 21st century, global context;

  • Aims to be collaborative and trans-disciplinary across several engineering streams; and

  • Provides an opportunity to integrate technical, human, aesthetic, business and ethical concerns with engineering design; and practice critical skills in communication, team-building, and project management.

Class of 2020 Engineering Capstone Projects

The senior year culminates in a comprehensive project report with design review by a committee of faculty and other professionals. This year, during this time of COVID-19 and remote learning, our Engineering seniors majoring in Civil, Electrical, Computer and Mechanical Engineering are working innovatively in developing their Capstone design projects.

We look forward to sharing the final projects of our Engineering Class of 2020 in May. In the meantime, showcased below are the Capstone projects from our most recent graduating classes.
