NYU Abu Dhabi Professor Jonardon Ganeri has received the Infosys Prize in India for his contributions to the cross-cultural study of philosophy.
Ganeri has taught Classical Indian Philosophy, Subjectivity, and Philosophy of Mind courses.
He was recognized for "outstanding scholarship and originality in interpreting and scrutinizing analytical Indian philosophy and shedding light on shared ground as well as the dichotomy between Indian and Greek traditions of philosophical reasoning," said the Infosys Science Foundation (ISF) in a press release.
The award is given annually to honor outstanding research across six disciplines: humanities, engineering and computer sciences, life sciences, mathematical sciences, physical sciences, and social sciences. The foundation was established in India in 2009.
