WHEN July 28, 2020
8 PM WHERE Zoom Webinar WHO NYU Abu Dhabi Art Gallery Open to the Public

What is an art scene? How does one form? In this live event, co-hosted with NYU Grey Art Gallery, Inventing Downtown curator Melissa Rachleff joins a conversation with Director of the NYU Grey Art Gallery, Lynn Gumpert, and Maya Allison, Executive Director of The NYUAD Art Gallery.

Taking the exhibition Inventing Downtown as a point of departure, the conversation will explore questions around the definition and formation of art scenes. The speakers will also consider today, and where and how art scenes exist in a time of physical separation.

This event is part of the TRACE: Archives and Reunions series, and will mark the publishing of the online archive for the Inventing Downtown exhibition, including digital versions of the youth guide, exhibition brochure, and photo archives.
