Congo at the Crossroads: A Conversation Across Disciplines

Workshop

WHEN February 12, 2018
9 AM - 5 PM EST WHERE 19 Washington Square North WHO NYU Abu Dhabi Institute in New York By Invitation Interested scholars please contact nyuad.programs@nyu.edu

This one-day workshop on the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) brings together historians, political scientists, and artists for a conversation across disciplines. Through the discussion of pre-circulated papers, a roundtable, and conversations with artists, the workshop participants review the current state of Congolese studies. At a moment when the DRC is once again engulfed in a generalized political crisis, how can scholars and practitioners in filmmaking, literature and visual arts learn from each other and offer insights that can illuminate Congo’s uncertain future?
