The Future of Engineering Education

This workshop explores the various ways engineering education is responding to rapid and profound global change and how these responses affect the global economy and the nature of the work required of engineers. Several fundamental, interlocking themes include: the internationalization of education; the changing nature of the relationship of engineering and traditional liberal arts education; and specific challenges for engineers posed by such diverse factors as severe flood and drought cycles, the rise of mega-cities, and the information revolution.
