NYUAD PhD Global Fellows
Developing the level and scope of research undertaken in the UAE is a stated priority for the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and NYUAD.
To help research in the UAE grow, the University has created a program (currently in the planning stages) called NYUAD PhD Global Fellows, with the aim to recruit exceptional PhD students to live and research in Abu Dhabi. Students will be admitted through the normal application processes of the NYU Graduate School of Arts and Science (GSAS) and NYU Poly, undertake their coursework and qualifying examinations in New York, then take up residence and research for subsequent years in Abu Dhabi.
The prosperity that we have witnessed has taught us to build our country with education and knowledge and nurture generations of educated men and women.
Faculty of international note in research and teaching will supervise the PhD students to the completion of their studies in Abu Dhabi. Excellent laboratories are available at NYUAD's Center for Science and Engineering, and the University's permanent Saadiyat Island campus, scheduled to open in 2014, will incorporate state-of-the-art science, engineering, and technology laboratories.
NYUAD is also developing the NYUAD PhD Global Symposium, a biannual event that will bring a selective group of individuals to Abu Dhabi to explore research alignment and study opportunities with the aim of supporting research needs within the UAE, building the capacity and culture of research activities, and networking students and faculty across the global network.
