Dr. Inderjeet Singh is a Postdoctoral Associate at the Advanced Materials and Building Efficiency Laboratory (AMBER Lab), Program of Civil and Urban Engineering at New York University Abu Dhabi. Inderjeet received his MSc Degree in Physics with a specialization in Condensed Matter Physics in 2009 from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. In 2012, Inderjeet received his MTech in Solid State Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. His MTech Thesis research focused on the development of novel catalyst materials for application in Microbial Fuel Cells. Inderjeet received his PhD degree in Physics in 2017 from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. During his PhD, Inderjeet also worked at Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research, Mainz, Germany, as an exchange student for one year as a recipient of International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS) Fellowship. His PhD thesis research was focused on the synthesis of multifunctional metal oxide nanomaterials using colloidal and wet chemical routes, their detailed physical and chemical property characterizations (e.g., structural, morphological, magnetic, optical), and applications in energy storage, catalysis, chemical, and gas sensors. The research focused on explaining the effects of the morphological variations in nanostructures on the observed physicochemical properties and performance in various applications.
Prior to joining AMBER lab, Inderjeet worked as a Research Associate with Sachin Khapli at NYU Abu Dhabi, where he worked on the development of mechanochromic polymeric materials for sensing of mechanical stress. In December 2019, Inderjeet joined AMBER Lab, headed by Kemal Celik. His research at AMBER lab will focus on the design and development of innovative building and construction materials for sustainable urban infrastructure.
