Scholarship Opportunities
Scholarships for Emirati students
NYU Abu Dhabi recognizes that higher education is a significant investment in your future, and we aim to attract the best possible students from around the world, regardless of financial circumstances. NYUAD provides greater financial assistance to undergraduate students who file on time and demonstrate financial need as determined by the CSS Profile. The CSS Profile is an online application administered through the CollegeBoard and it is used by NYU to review students for institutional aid.
In recognition of NYUAD's highly-selective admissions process, and of the important role that the University plays in shaping future world leaders, the Abu Dhabi government provides scholarships to all admitted UAE national students and children of Emirati mothers in the form of the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed NYUAD Scholarship for Exceptional Emirati Students. Additionally, UAE national students, who demonstrate financial need as determined by the CSS Profile, may be eligible for the need-based personal support award.
All NYUAD applicants are encouraged to file the CSS Profile to determine their aid eligibility. Go to Apply for Financial Aid for important application and deadline information.
To be considered for need-based aid, you must submit the CSS Profile (and noncustodial parent’s Profile or CSS Profile Waiver Request for the Noncustodial Parent, if applicable) by the required financial aid deadline. NYUAD provides greater financial assistance to undergraduate students who file on time and demonstrate financial need as determined by the CSS Profile.
Supporting documentation may be required upon NYU’s receipt of your CSS Profile. Please do not submit any additional documents unless requested.
The Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed NYUAD Scholarship for Exceptional Emirati Students is a scholarship that is offered to admitted Emirati nationals and children of Emirati mothers.
Students who would like to be considered for the need-based personal support award will need to file a CSS Profile application annually. Submitting the CSS Profile is optional and submitting this application will not impact the Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed NYUAD Scholarship for Exceptional Emirati Students.
Students who file the CSS Profile by the deadline will be considered for need-based financial aid. With such a diverse student body, NYU Abu Dhabi considers a broad range of family situations when determining financial need, and all students, regardless of citizenship or background, are encouraged to submit the CSS Profile.
Award amounts vary depending on the student's financial need as determined by the CSS Profile.
New students who are admitted to earn an undergraduate degree from NYUAD and are eligible for NYU Abu Dhabi financial aid will be notified of their awards at the time they are admitted. However, it is important to submit all additional documentation, if requested, and to meet any filing deadlines for full consideration. Award amounts vary depending on the student's financial need as determined by the CSS Profile.
Your financial aid award letter will be accessible via the NYU Albert Student Center, which outlines the details of your financial aid offer. Students who have questions or concerns about their offer are encouraged to contact the NYU Abu Dhabi Office of Financial Support at nyuad.financial.support@nyu.edu.
Please note: Accepting the offer of admission is also an acceptance of the financial aid award offered.

Financial aid is generally renewed at the same level that is offered upon admission if you were required to file a Profile by the deadline and demonstrated financial need. The institutional aid is renewed for all four years as long as you:
The CSS Profile is no longer required to renew aid for currently enrolled undergraduate students. The CSS application is optional for Emirati Citizens who would like to be reviewed for the personal support award (Falcon Dirhams). For more information please visit our page on Scholarships for Emirati Students.
If you expect to receive financial support from a source outside of your family, please notify the Office of Financial Aid of that assistance. Such support may be in the form of government grants, scholarships from community organizations, or other sources. Any such financial support from an external source will be considered in determining the amount of financial aid you ultimately receive from NYU Abu Dhabi. Your combined awards cannot exceed the annual cost of attendance.
Students are encouraged to contact the Office of Financial Aid at nyuad.financial.support@nyu.edu if they have any questions.
