Barbara Scheck is the Professor for Entrepreneurship at Munich Business School/Germany. Prior to this position she was an Assistant Professor for Social Investment at the University of Hamburg. Her research focuses on the financing of social enterprises, impact and mission-related investing and impact measurement and management. She holds a Diplôme de Grande Ecole and MSc from the European School of Management where she studied International Business Administration in Paris, Oxford and Berlin and a PhD from Technical University Munich.
She was a Visiting Fellow at the Asia Centre for Social Entrepreneurship & Philanthropy at NUS National University of Singapore and is the founder of the European Center for Social Finance, a research and technical assistance institute for impact investors and social finance providers. With the European Center for Social Finance, Prof. Scheck advises the European Commission as well as over 30 European impact investors and intermediaries. She is member of the investment committee of GLS Treuhand and has published a variety of articles and books on the topic of impact investing and social impact management.
