Business and Administration

NYU Abu Dhabi Business and Administration works closely with the Vice Chancellor on all matters related to the office, including university policies, strategic planning, communication, and institute-wide initiatives. Business and Administration is responsible for the development and oversight of the university’s policies and procedures, and it works closely with NYU Abu Dhabi’s government partner on crisis planning and joint governance issues.

Leader Profile

Amol Dani serves as the Chief Operating Officer at NYU Abu Dhabi.

As the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Amol leads strategic and operational initiatives at NYUAD driving its mission to deliver world-class education and research. Overseeing finance, budget and planning, human resources, facilities management and real estate operations, information technology, campus safety, and internal audit and risk management, the COO ensures operational excellence while advancing institutional priorities. By enhancing processes and introducing new services, the COO fosters an environment where efficiency, agility, and alignment drive the achievement of institutional goals.

Amol brings a wealth of experience from his previous leadership roles in higher education and the Edtech sector. Prior to joining NYUAD, he was the Vice President and Chief Business Officer at Georgetown University’s main campus and the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Associate Dean for Executive Education at Georgetown’s Qatar campus. In these roles, Amol spearheaded key initiatives, including the launch of an international branch campus, executive and professional degree and non-degree programs, and collaborations with global organizations for human capacity development. 

Amol has entrepreneurship experience, having co-founded a platform for career and skills development, along with other ventures in technology skills education and STEM education with a focus on equipping students and professionals with future-ready skills. Throughout his career, Amol has demonstrated a commitment to fostering innovation, operational efficiency, and global engagement in higher education.

Amol is a holder of three graduate degrees: an MBA from Warwick Business School, UK, a Master’s degree in Leadership from Georgetown University in Washington DC, and a Master's in Higher Education Research from Lancaster University, UK. He is also a Certified Public Accountant from the US and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Sydenham College, University of Mumbai, India.
