Tanguy Le Fur is an economist primarily interested in theories of long-run growth and economic history. His current research investigates the political economy considerations underlying public investments during the British Industrial Revolution, and in particular, how the provision of public health infrastructure shaped both the accumulation of human capital and the direction of technological progress in 19th century England.
Tanguy is also interested in the history of economic thought and works on the transformation of macroeconomics in the last fifty years, with a particular emphasis on the emergence of microfoundations as a methodological cornerstone of macroeconomic models.
