Postdoctoral Associate Affiliation: NYU Abu Dhabi
Education: PhD CSIR-Central Salt and Marine Chemical Research Institute

Research Areas: Electrodialysis, Fuel cell, Energy Conversion and Storage, Water treatment

Prem Sharma is a Postdoctoral Associate at the NYUAD Water Research Center. Prem obtained his PhD from CSIR-Central Salt and Marine Chemical Research Institute, India, in 2018, during which he developed polymer electrolyte membranes/composites for electrochemical applications such as Electrodialysis, Fuel cells, and Redox Flow Batteries. Before his appointment at NYUAD, he was working as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea. His research was focused on improving the antioxidation stability of the polymer electrolyte membranes for Fuel cell application. His work in the WRC is treating the seawater reverse osmosis rejected brine by electrodialysis.

Current Research

Current research Prem’s point of interest focus on the valorization of salts from seawater reverse osmosis rejected brine by electrodialysis so that it can be used as a feed for another electrochemical process.
