Dr. Federico Bernardini is the Assistant Director for Research Strategy at the Center for Interacting Urban Networks (CITIES) and the Center for Behavioral Institutional Design (C-BID) at NYUAD. He is an astrophysicist by training (PhD. University of Rome) and a former Marie Curie Fellow. Since he joined NYUAD in 2014 he worked in different departments including the Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO), where he focused on Advancement and Philanthropy, and the division of Engineering, where he supported the Dean in identifying new partners that aligned with the mission of the division. In his role at CITIES and C-BID, he is responsible for establishing and designing new partnerships, implementing human capital development programs, such as a new PhD program in Urban Science, and sustaining the efforts of the two centers in bridging the gap between scientific discovery and societal impact.
