Rasha AbdulHalim

Postdoctoral Associate Affiliation: NYU Abu Dhabi
Education: BSc, American University of Beirut; MSc, American University Beirut; DSc in Chemical Science, KAUST

Research Areas: Metal Organic frameworks, MOF synthesis, MOF characterization, X-ray crystallography, Gas sorption, supramolecular architectures

Rasha received her BS and MS degrees in Chemistry from the American University of Beirut (AUB), Lebanon. After finishing her Masters, she moved to Saudi Arabia to pursue her PhD in Chemical Sciences at KAUST under the supervision of Professor Mohamed Eddaoudi. During her PhD, she worked on isolating MOFs for gas storage and separation and water adsorption applications. The advancement in these materials will pave the way towards new adsorption-based technologies in the field of energy and environment.

As a member of Trabolsi group, her research activities are mainly focused on the synthesis of metal-organic frameworks from pre-fabricated knots (catenanes and trinodal knots (TK)) and introducing new linkers for knot formation.

Research

Rasha is currently working on the following:

  • Synthesis of organic linkers to introduce new knots (catenanes and TKs)
  • Synthesis of MOFs from pre-fabricated knots (developed in the lab)
