Postdoctoral Associate Affiliation: NYU Abu Dhabi
Education: PhD (Psychology)
Eija joined the Teaching, Learning and Development lab in January 2018. She received her PhD in 2012 at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. She was also a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Teacher Education funded by Academy of Finland (2015-2017).
Eija’s research foci include teacher-child interactions, teaching practices and teacher-student relationships in relation to students’ motivation, social skills and academic achievement. In addition, she is interested in trust and collaboration between teachers and parents, teacher and student stress, and teacher’s allocation of visual attention in classroom situations and how teacher-child-interactions are related to these in classroom situations.
