Rushna Quddus is pursuing her PhD in Chemistry with a focus on materials science. She graduated with a BS (2014) in Chemistry (minor in Environmental Science) from the United Arab Emirates University on the International Student Scholarship. She then studied for her MS (2016) in Chemistry at New York University in New York, as a Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Scholar, in the group of Kent Kirshenbaum contributing to the study of peptoid nanosheets for biological applications. She is a board member of the UAE Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society. Her current research interests include the investigation of thermosalient crystals, smart materials, and crystal growth.
