Dr. Luca Catalano was born in Milan, Italy (1989). He received his Bachelor in Chemistry from Università degli Studi di Milano (2011), spending one semester in Paris, France, at UPMC, Université VI Pierre et Marie Curie, as a recipient of Erasmus scholarship. He received his MS in Photochemistry and Molecular Materials from Alma Mater Studiorum, University of Bologna, working with Professor Dario Braga (2013). Then, he moved back to Milan, where he earned his PhD in Supramolecular Chemistry from Politecnico di Milano under the supervision of Professor Pierangelo Metrangolo (2017). In the same group, he spent 8 months as Postdoctoral Fellow. During his doctoral studies, he worked 6 months as visiting researcher with Professor Miguel Garcia-Garibay at UCLA, California. His research interests include design, synthesis, and characterization of multicomponent crystalline systems and the study of stimuli-responsive materials.
